Marcus finally tells the entire truth.
He discovered Voss’s private archive three years after Anna’s disappearance.
He tried to steal it.
That is why Voss began threatening him.
Marcus used company funds to relocate people Voss had blackmailed and to help erase the leverage Voss held over them.
This explains the missing money without making Marcus secretly heroic from the beginning.
He made real mistakes.
He accused Jennifer.
He gave Victor Anna’s ring.
He stayed silent about Anna possibly being alive.
But he spent years trying to repair the damage.
The blue warehouse contains physical medical files from the old research program.
Daniel, Anna, Marcus, and Moreno enter legally with a warrant.
The archive is nearly empty.
Voss got there first.
But he left one box.
Inside:
Samuel Price’s notebook.
The last page reads:
ADRIAN IS NOT ACTING ALONE.
R.M. KNOWS.
Daniel reads it twice.
R.M.
Robert Mercer.
His father.
A man who has been dead for eight years.
But this time the story does not resurrect him.
Marcus quietly says:
“R.M. doesn’t mean Dad.”
Daniel looks at him.
“Then who?”
Marcus answers:
“Rebecca Mills.”
The Mercer Foundation’s current chairwoman.
